Dispensaries across Canada and the United States can now connect Cova point of sale software to top accounting systems to improve efficiency
BURLINGTON, Ontario, July 24, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Today, the eBridge Connections team announces a pre-built connector and helpful workflows for Cova point of sale (POS) software used by dispensaries in the cannabis industry across North America. With this announcement, cannabis retailers can use eBridge’s integration platform for their cannabis POS of record and flow all new sales order data, such as price, SKU, customer detail and date, back into their ERP or accounting system – correctly, in real time and without the risk of human error.
eBridge Connections is already a leading accounting integration platform as a service (iPaaS) vendor in the fashion, sporting apparel, toy, supplement and food and beverage industries across North America. The expansion to the cannabis industry is a natural and well-suited next step for the Canadian-based company.
“We are excited to lend our technology and expertise to cannabis dispensaries who are serving this new industry. There is so much to think about when starting up this type of business. Taking critical system connectivity off of dispensary owners’ plates is what eBridge has begun to do this week,” says Lindsay Hampson, senior marketing manager and customer accounts at eBridge Connections.
The upcoming legalization of cannabis in October across Canada and the legalization of marijuana across several states in the United States has driven record demand, projected to be in the billions in Canada alone. With this demand, new software vendors, like Cova, have surfaced to serve.
Cova makes advanced software for cannabis stores, including a useful POS system that provides good customer experience, fast service and robust menus to suit unique preferences and needs. Clients of Cova, for example Spirit Leaf, can focus on expansion, knowledge and building trust with consumers rather than manual order data processing. With critical system integration – from Cova software to their accounting application – dispensary owners can avoid having a full-time employee entering sales data into the back-office system.
“It is not often you get to witness the formation of an entirely new industry. Technological advancements will be fast and furious across production and through packing and fulfillment. eBridge Connections is excited to streamline 'after the sale' processes like efficiency of cannabis sales order processing, inventory level tracking, shipping information back to the consumer and more,” says Lindsay.
For new dispensary owners or multi-store marijuana retailers, the problem of critical system connectivity can now be solved with eBridge’s integration platform. Sales order data in commerce systems can sync back-office ERP or accounting applications including NetSuite, SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor and QuickBooks.
eBridge Connections also has connectors for other software applications that service or will service the cannabis retail space, such as Shopify POS, newly chosen by the newly formed Ontario Cannabis Retail Corporation (OCRC). eBridge Connections plans to develop connectors for marketplaces and resource sites, such as Leafly, a Wikipedia-type resource marketplace for cannabis commerce.
